Welcome to Mikes Rubbish

We started Mike's Rubbish to fill a need in the community. We have been providing service since the end of May 2019. We started picking up trash at commercial locations at no charge and then added pick-up for those who had no way to get their trash to the landfill. In June of 2019 we received a 1 year contract to provide trash service in the Town of Tonopah.  In July of 2019 we began picking up trash for the whole town and also added Lower Smoky valley. We started off with 175 paying customers in July and now service nearly 400 residential customers and 60 commercial customers. We started using my pickup truck and a 6 yard dump trailer making as many as 3 trips to the landfill a day. We serviced commercial locations 7 days a week as to keep the accumulation to a minimum. Mid July we purchased our first piece of equipment, a 8.2 yard dump trailer and that was a big help. We were still doing all the pick up by hand until we where able to get financing for a Trash truck, Trash carts and Dumpsters. We finally got the truck in early October and the carts and dumpsters followed the same month. We purchased 549 carts and 40 new dumpsters and boy did that make a difference. We stopped 7 day pickup at that time at commercial locations. We now pick up residential customers on Mondays, Tuesday and Wednesdays. Commercial customers on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and Thursdays if set for our Lower Smoky customers, all 26 of them. We also do cart placements and any repair work needed on this day. We are still learning things as we go. We will make mistakes once in a while. Let us know when we goof so we can fix it.  We have 4 employee's that have been in the community for as many as 50 years. Some born here. We have many friends and family members in the community. We know where most folks live. Sometimes we pick up trash because we see it, even if you are not a customer. If you have a yard that you can't seem to get cleaned up, give us a call and we will see what we can do. We live here and we like Tonopah.
